I posted a crocheted nunchaku pattern to DETP this morning, you can find that here.
I also made myself a little lacy cuff based kind off of this pattern, kind of in this case meaning, same basic shape, except I made up the pattern as I went along, mine is lacier and instead of being made out of fingering weight, it's made from size 10 crochet cotton.
pretty! )
I checked the size of the motif against my nano and I think I'm going to adjust the pattern to make a new nano cozy.

I like roses. I took a picture of a wild rose while I was walking to the gym yesterday, and used it as a model to draw a rose to put on this box.

The gym was well.. the gym. I felt very strong because all the other girls were lifting a lot less than I was. Funny thing is, I'm not really lifting much. But in one case? I was benching more than one woman was leg pressing. Go me.

Off to go bead! *edit* or you know.. make a beading pattern. You can see that here

The last crochet or knit pattern from Star Gift Book No. 150, the rest are embroidery patterns or yarn crafts and I'm still deciding if I'm going to post them for completion or not.

I think this pattern would be cute in thread for phone charms and such.

So I'm not sure I'll be able to get this posted before I lose my connection again.
I posted a crochet pattern to Don't Eat the Paste, but like I said, I'll post here as well as soon as I can trust my connection. It's a pineapple patterned thread nano pouch.

I won't make it to chat tonight because really? The last 16 hours, I've been lucky to get in 30 seconds of connection before I'm dropped again. The techs at my isp are working on the issue though.

You do not have the time to take up another hobby. You also need to focus better than you have been on the current projects on deck and don't need to get distracted by drawing ambigrams.
Designed an amulet bag with a recycle logo. I'm thinking of seeing who has a green plastic soda bottle I can cut up into leaves for the fringe.
pattern cut! )
Tomorrow I'm going to work on earrings, and an idea I had for a loaf of bread that's pushing the barriers of what I know works for bread. *crossed fingers*

Went to the zoo today, it was pretty crazy since it was a free day for kids. Dad came along, and it was a lot of fun.

Off one of the patterns I have posted here.
Roger isn't really jolly. )

When I got in the car to go with Mike to get comics, he was listening to classical. He doesn't often, but I remembered how much I loved listening to classical while I bead.

Well.. now I'm taking a short break from all the projects I'm working on to go play a game or read a book or something.

Are craft related. Like gyotaku, which is the art of fish printing. It was used as a way to record trophy catches by inking them and placing paper over the top and creating a print of the fish.
Which is just really cool. Other then the whole catching the fish, rinsing it clean of sea gunk, patting it dry, and well.. generally working with a dead fish.

Of course, there are some replicas that can be used the same way. To make monoprints of fish. Yay! And not just fish, but seahorses, star fish, and geckos.
E and I were talking about it last night, and we decided the doing some teeshirts and dresses using the crystal wash method in blues and greens to simulate water, then doing fish prints on the dyed shirts/dresses would be lots of fun this summer.

Almost done. One crochet pattern left after this, and the rest are yarn crafts, appropriate for
children to do with your help, and for grandparents to ooh and aww over. This pattern made me nuts, and I edited just a bit because it kept changing how it expressed the stitches, sometimes from one row to the next the spacing in the abbreviation would change. Other than that, I didn't edit the original text.

As promised. I even colorized the picture so you could get an idea how they look colorized. The reversed colors for the matched set, I didn't do. But I'm sure you'll be able to imagine. And shudder. Be afraid. Be very very afraid.

Well... the spine finally tore on it. I knew it would. So I'm going to try and get the whole thing transcribed in the next couple of weeks.
Of course.. I haven't shown you the horror yet. That will have to wait. I'll post it on Friday the 13th, it deserves a special day all it's own. It really truly does get worse than the odd hand puppet on the cover. But today's project is pretty. I think I'll need to see if I can graph out the pattern in international crochet symbol at some point, because following it in my mind in the written form made me a bit dizzy.

I spent today mostly reading, cooking, and working on my scarf, I'm halfway through the second round, and it will be 4 rounds total. (strip method donchaknow)

I also spent a little while transcribing a couple new patterns. This time, knit patterns. The first one is fairly wearable. The second, really customizable, but for the most part? Not recommending the customizations they did. Well.. E loves one, and I like one. Can you guess which ones we like? But I think it would look too cute with embroidered flowers and rick rack, because rick rack makes everything look better.
No date in this book )
It doesn't say, but the Loops variation is the one you need the crochet hook for. And check out the flowers hat! Yep. Those are pom pom flowers. It sort of reminds me of those swimming caps with plastic flowers attached.
Did you guess which variation I liked and which one E likes?

I love this stole pattern. It's done strip method, and has a flower-y look to it.

Well.. yesterday while getting ready to go to the gym, I tripped over my purse, which twisted my back, and caused a lot of spasming. So the gym was out. Thank goodness for my muscle relaxants.

But since everyone was ready to go, even if I was moving very slowly, Mike decided very spontaneously to get me a shiny new 1 TB external since they've dropped so much in price.
*happiness* It was cute. The clerk was talking about his 7000 songs on his ipod like that was a lot of songs. I pulled out my ipod, and showed it to him. He goggled.

Other than that, most of what I did yesterday was boring boring housework. Nothing creative.

Still need to get to answering my email at some point.

I graphed a fangbanger bracelet to bead at some point. Since I'm probably not the only Southern Vampire series fan who beads.. click here for the pattern.
By request, I did a mermaid box for a lady recently, and since I had a mermaid I drew a couple years ago, I just colored that and used it. I really loved how cute the mermaid turned out so I used it for a wallpaper.

From my vintage book stash. These are 3 edgings from Star Book No. 81, Edgings which has crochet and tatted edging for handkerchiefs, pillows and towels.
A good modern use for edging patterns is using a medium to worsted weight yarn and doing lengths as scarves or edging a scarf or stole in a sport weight.
here they are. )
Of course.. I really should do more of the disembodied head patterns!

Mike however, has a GL teeshirt. So he's very very happy, it was W's present for him, and E got him a bunch of tools for carving wood. He's got this plan to get shirts that need cufflinks so I can make him GL beaded cufflinks. *rubs hands together and looks gleeful* Yes! He is a DC fan now!
When we got to Bosco's last night, they didn't have comics out yet. So they told us what they had, and we got the ones we wanted. Mostly DC, one Marvel.
do you cross stitch? )
We hit the store for candy for Dad, and I found Martha Stewart glitters half off. So I'm a happy glitter girl. Mike is less happy. He thinks glitter is cruel and unusual craft warfare, and probably banned by Geneva Convention. He also has a fear of being confused for Liberace. Apparently he gets teased at work occasionally about the glitter infection he carries.
A baby at the store kicked off her shoe, and her mom didn't notice, Mike picked it up and put it back on her. She was *thrilled* with that, and kicked it off 3 more times. After the last time, her mom held it and said she wouldn't give it back unless she would be good, the little girl yelled "MINE!" and her mom put it back on.. a second later, she was pulling up her foot to take it back off. I think she was really loving having Mike return it to her. She was a gorgeous little girl. Made me very wistful.
Also made a necklace last night. Need to get a picture of it.
