Torchwood amulet bag pattern Now I just need to stitch this up. Yep yep. And find a little plastic pterodactyl to drill to work into the strap or fringe.

E liked the rock I found. I picked it up mostly for her anyway. She was impressed by the whiteness of it. It looks like a little chunk of snow really.

rainbow patterns for beadwork )
Well.. the yogurt bread was definitely a hit. For a fairly large loaf, it disappeared pretty quickly. Not sure what's on deck this weekend. But possibly homemade peeps as well as egg dying.
I'm all achy from the gym yesterday. I skipped cardio entirely because you know.. cardio is boring. Well.. the gym is boring, but cardio is the boringest. So I did a lot of resistance lifting type stuff. Mostly machines.
Now.. off to take a break before writing some more. I got a couple books to read. E is going to help me with reviewing one, and let you know her take on it. I was spending a gift certificate, and torn between a couple titles, and let her make the final decision. I'm pretty sure her review is going to be favorable. She hugged the book before letting me have it to check out.

Are craft related. Like gyotaku, which is the art of fish printing. It was used as a way to record trophy catches by inking them and placing paper over the top and creating a print of the fish.
Which is just really cool. Other then the whole catching the fish, rinsing it clean of sea gunk, patting it dry, and well.. generally working with a dead fish.

Of course, there are some replicas that can be used the same way. To make monoprints of fish. Yay! And not just fish, but seahorses, star fish, and geckos.
E and I were talking about it last night, and we decided the doing some teeshirts and dresses using the crystal wash method in blues and greens to simulate water, then doing fish prints on the dyed shirts/dresses would be lots of fun this summer.

Well.. yesterday while getting ready to go to the gym, I tripped over my purse, which twisted my back, and caused a lot of spasming. So the gym was out. Thank goodness for my muscle relaxants.

But since everyone was ready to go, even if I was moving very slowly, Mike decided very spontaneously to get me a shiny new 1 TB external since they've dropped so much in price.
*happiness* It was cute. The clerk was talking about his 7000 songs on his ipod like that was a lot of songs. I pulled out my ipod, and showed it to him. He goggled.

Other than that, most of what I did yesterday was boring boring housework. Nothing creative.

Still need to get to answering my email at some point.

I graphed a fangbanger bracelet to bead at some point. Since I'm probably not the only Southern Vampire series fan who beads.. click here for the pattern.
By request, I did a mermaid box for a lady recently, and since I had a mermaid I drew a couple years ago, I just colored that and used it. I really loved how cute the mermaid turned out so I used it for a wallpaper.

Mike is absolutely my hero. And a few other people's of course as well. Last night he was late coming home because he was helping out a stranger. There are worse reasons.
Got comics. They've started pulling more then just what's our list. Looking at what we buy, and pulling more. I don't mind.
Vs? well.. lately they've not been good. This week is quake vs halo. Can't tell you how much I don't care.

After that, we went and bought me a new printer. It was time to admit the amount of fiddling I was doing to make mine work was just frustrating me. Hopefully, Mike can take it apart later and figure out why it doesn't work, it's mechanical. He's clever.
Then we met Dad for dinner. He was only 20 minutes late, and we all had dinner, it was mostly nice.

Today E and I are making homemade cream soda.

Let's see.. ortho appointment was *great*. A lot of the damage in my knees has gotten better, and they think they know what's causing the pain. If it's what they think, it's *repairable*. I'm so many kinds of thrilled. I'm going in for MRI next month, I did do the sensible thing and ask for the sedatives this time. Last time was horrible. The orthopedist told me I should wear braces on my knees more often.

YAY!
My first e-book is up for sale now! It's got the original patterns from my knotwork patterns plus 6 more bracelet patterns.
I'm excited and hoping for the best. The best being, over the next couple of months, making enough to buy Mike the Foamy dvds he doesn't have yet for his birthday.

Need help from the TCG type people out there.. what are the dimensions of a deck and which game do you play? I'd like to make some printable boxes, including one with Mel's "stained glass" moon design for my son, they will be posted on my printables site too, but I need the dimensions, and if possible, any design considerations you think are necessary. Personally, I'm thinking a lidded box like a gift box, but I'm just not sure.

TIA!

Today I spent the day graphing out knotwork bracelets, and after I finished 4 different designs, I thought "Why not a dragonfly?"

And that was it, for the rest of the day. It took something like 6 hours to get graphed just right for me. Of course, I'm NEVER going to make it. It's 110 beads long and 90 beads wide, in either flat peyote or brick stitch.
wanna sneak peek before I post it with the bracelets? )

E and I walked up to the grocery store today, it's just a bit shy of 2 miles, and a friend saw us walking and offered us a ride, he looked at me like I'd grown another head when I said "No, we're just enjoying the weather and the walk." It's 35 degrees today! Positively summery!

My Wonder Woman bracelet I mean. Figuring out the clasp was the hard part, but I finally did something I liked.
I think I may wind up doing a few pieces based on strong female role models, and I think I had a pretty good idea for the next one.
