i have some older craft supplies i dont use (mainly beads and small wooden shapes) that i would like to donate. is there a crafty organization that works with children, the elder, or the underprivileged that i could send my things to? i thought of donating them to an elementary school and asked my mom who's a teacher but apparently they dont do too many crafts at schools nowadays. i have tried googling but i havent come up with anything. im in central florida if that matters. thanks!

Cat vs. kitten food
We have an adult cat and we just brought home a kitten. She eats cat food, he eats kitten food. We're running into an issue of them eating each other's food. I see this as a problem for two reasons: 1. She'll gain weight faster eating kitten food. 2. He won't get the nutrients he needs if he eats cat food.
We've tried putting the kitten's food in a separate room, hoping we could teach him that's where his food is, while her's remains, as it had been in the past, in the kitchen. Doesn't work. Any ideas on how to make this work? My boyfriend thinks we just give them each half cat food half kitten food, but I think this too is a bad idea.....

I love guys' t-shirts
Here is another guys' shirt that I bought. I thought it was a cool design. I did another shirt in a similar way to this one- just using another shirt as my pattern. I used the sewing machine to take in the sides. Everything that I cut, I left the edges raw. Then I poked holes in the center to do the cinching effect. I used a cut strip from a black t-shirt to make the string. Then I hand-sewed some velvet across the top. Then I poked 10 holes 1/2 inch apart on each strap and threaded a black thick string through. I sewed it in place on each strap. And I also cut a few inches off the bottom. I didn't take pictures of the back, but it is cut same as the front- no cinching though and just plain white on the back. Hooray!

Thank Goodness For Boo
Because of what happened, I'm not going to make it in to work on Monday. You might think I'm just enjoying a summer day off in my backyard BBQing, but I'm really not.
I'm not sure if you saw my story on the local news so here's the link.

It is HOT out!
So it was like 105 degrees a couple weeks ago when I made these. Good to wear when it's hot. These are both boys' size t-shirts. I love to buy them. They have good designs and they are so cheap. I just cut off the sleeves, just inside the seam. Then I measured 2 inches down from the collar and drew a line to meet the armpit. Then I cut that line and cut just under the collar. That's it. I learned that one from a book too.
