More vintage crochet
From my vintage book stash. These are 3 edgings from Star Book No. 81, Edgings which has crochet and tatted edging for handkerchiefs, pillows and towels.
A good modern use for edging patterns is using a medium to worsted weight yarn and doing lengths as scarves or edging a scarf or stole in a sport weight.

I didn't type out the patterns, just scanned them, and assembled them into pdfs with the pictures of the pieces. I was originally just planning to do the pineapple edging, but since that pattern was a page with the other two, I decided to do all 3. Both pdfs are one page.

The pineapple edging.

I put the green and yellow edgings in the same pdf.

Of course.. I really should do more of the disembodied head patterns!

I love to make crochet patterns. I just did a Chowder hat I need to photograph and put online. It was fun. It still needs some tweaking to be ready to give out, but it's pretty cool. I'd never used a popcorn stitch before but it really worked on this.
If I didn't have papers to write for school I'd totally be reworking the disembodied head pattern. It's too cute!

isn't it? I really sort of hate the knot stitch, but there are all sort of stitches that would work well for that. I just need to find just the right yarn, I know I want red. I have a Little Red Riding Hood obsession.

Thank you for doing this. I love looking at old crochet patterns, and it makes me happy to know that there are people archiving and sharing them before the paper crumbles away.
