Well... I mentioned to some of you, I got a bottle of rum, this stuff. SN 938514 if you're curious. I also have a smaller bottle up too high for me to reach it to see if I can find a review of it, also from the Dominican Republic. I don't drink. Mike doesn't drink. This stuff got a review that makes me wish I did, I used to like rum and cokes. You know, when I drank.

I'm not sure if I'm going to the zoo today. The hotel is being renovated, and Mike had to work. E and I went to the Saturday Market though yesterday. First day and it was a blast.

We caught the bus of course and headed downtown. I'm a card carrying member of Build-A-Bears Stuff Fur Stuff program, and in the last year had earned a 10 dollar gift certificate, so I told E she could get a new bear. We hit there first, and she picked the literacy bear with a charity heart, and a cat sound. She named it Sora, and I'll get pictures later because we didn't get clothes for it, and she made Sora a keyblade with duct tape. Then we stopped by HT because, hey, always worth a look at the clearance racks. HAPPINESS! Punisher teeshirts. I got 2 for me, one for my dad, plus I found 2 shirts for Mike.
I realized I'd forgotten my camera when we spotted a rose in a drinking fountain. it would have made a neat picture.
I remembered reading about a crafter bazaar at the Ship Creek Mall, which is full of nifty Alaskan businesses and craftiness anyway. We stopped by there. A lady was selling LUSCIOUS smelling bars of hot process soap 4/30.00, which may seem high, but the bars are HUGE. 7-8 oz each. I let E pick one, and I picked the other 3, a review will follow later after I take a shower. E got a minty one, I got vanilla mint, a lovely subtle floral and "biscotti". There was a guy there selling jars of jam, and I got a jar of pumpkin butter which E and I are going to blend into cream cheese and make tarts with. Because.. yum!
Then on to the Saturday Market. First stop? Caramel. There's a local company Kahiltna Birch that makes this amazing birch syrup caramel that's just a sin. We wandered, we shopped, we sampled and we finally had lunch. We were planning on reindeer sausage (from a booth called Rudolph's. I need to get a picture) but instead we had deep fried halibut. Yummy fried fair food. Yay for fried halibut in particular.
Oh the bag was heavy, and E was carrying it, so we headed to the hotel, met up with Mike and went to pick up the car which is finally fixed, so we returned Dad's car, and went to a car wash and then to the grocery store. We got frozen vanilla yogurt to put the caramel on for dessert.
Got home and enjoyed dessert before dinner, because you know, with the whole fridge situation, I didn't want the yogurt to melt. Yum yum yum!!!
Whoops, missed a step, while we were at Dad's house, E showed her new bear to everyone, and showed them the sound it made. This was all done one at a time since they weren't all in the room at the same time. Mike said "Why does your bear sound like a cat?" Dad said "Why does your bear make THAT noise?" and W just started laughing. And finally asked "Is your bear supposed to sound like a cat?" E is just thrilled with her fluffy meowing bear.
I asked her what her favorite part of the day was, completely expecting her to say getting Sora, but it wasn't. She said she couldn't decide, the whole day was great. I agree.

In other news, last time I bought cologne, I got a bottle of violet. The scent is totally not making it for my family. Mike says "It's nice, just not what I'm used to." and E flat out says she doesn't like it, and wants me to wear rose or that other stuff (Opium). Ah well.
